THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS

Individualized for YOUR specific needs

The assessment process starts with an individual interview, to discuss the reasons that bring you in for an evaluation. Once your goals have been clarified, we discuss the testing process that will provide the answers you need. Some types of evaluations, such as those required for background security or private school admissions, can generally occur in one testing session of 3 - 4 hours. For a comprehensive assessment designed to identify or diagnose learning, attention, emotional or developmental disorders, the evaluation will require two or more sessions, each lasting approximately three hours. Once testing is completed, a comprehensive report will be written, explaining test results and containing individualized diagnoses (if applicable) as well as recommended accommodations and interventions. The report -- designed to be your "road map"  -- will be reviewed in a separate one hour session. Please note: insurance is not accepted. However, you will be provided with an itemized receipt that contains the correct codes for you to submit to your insurance company. You may wish to contact your insurance company prior to scheduling to find out what services they will cover. Please contact me to learn more and to discuss fees, or click here for more information.
